Tax Exemption
Every year, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issues a letter to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) with respect to the federal status of Catholic organizations listed in the latest edition of the Official Catholic Directory (OCD), called a “Group Ruling.” St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community is listed in the OCD and by its authority, so too its agencies and instrumentalities including the PWC.
The current Group Ruling by the IRS, along with a detailed explanation, a list of frequently asked questions and IRS Publication 4573, is available online by visiting http://www.usccb.org/about/general-counsel/group-tax-exemption.cfm.

Privacy
You care about your privacy, the Parents Working for Children (PWC) does too. That is why the PWC is committed to protecting one’s privacy and using any information submitted through this website carefully and sensibly. We appreciate your trust. To that end, we collect and use information through this website only as disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
How do we protect personal information?
We protect your personal information in four phases: as it is received, stored, accessed and displayed.
First, we protect your information on its path over the internet to our secure server. We maintain a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate (see bottom of page) and utilize a secure (“https://…”) connection for pages where personal information is entered. These pages take a few seconds longer to load and appear on your computer screen, but this helps prevent data eavesdropping, tampering and message forgery.
When you make a purchase or donation on our site, we use a secure payment service. Credit cards are processed through Elavon, our merchant account provider. We use Authorize.net as our secure gateway. Both names are synonymous with credit card security.
Second, all information is stored securely. Private information is maintained on a secure server. We use industry-leading firewall protection. Order histories are maintained only for your convenience and credit card information is only kept in a redacted and useless format (e.g. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-2349). This allows us to maintain our “CPI Compliance”, the current standard for online merchants.
Third, we protect all information from unauthorized access. Only authorized persons are given administrative access to stored data, and even then their access is closely controlled.
Finally, we use password protected web pages for the display of any information considered to be private. This policy mandates that we maintain a system of user accounts for the granting of access to “private” pages. This system of user accounts may lead to the occasional inconvenience or forgotten password, but we value protection over convenience.
Will we disclose information to outside parties?
No. We do not make personal or private information available to other organizations. We do not sell, rent or loan any private information. This includes, among other things, email addresses, credit card numbers, US mail addresses and telephone numbers.
What information is not considered private and protected?
All clergy, educators and many employees of our community and its institutions are legally-mandated reporters of suspected sexual abuse, child abuse, child neglect and elder abuse. California law requires such mandated reporters to report possible instances of these offenses to law enforcement agencies.
Any user of this website indicating, threatening, admitting to or representing an act in violation of the law on this website or through an e-mail link contained on this website will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Disclosures of this nature are considered neither private nor protected under this policy.
Requests by law enforcement agencies for information about website users, deemed by our counsel to be legitimate and not in violation of Constitutional principles, will be honored.

Permission to Publish Student Art
When possible we display your child’s artwork on this website. For instance, we sometimes feature an “artist’s corner” where we proudly showcase student art. If you submit artwork: there is no guarantee it will be displayed, it may need to be resized and/or altered slightly, and it may be included in the collection without notice. If it is included in the collection, it may be removed without notice, it may be displayed on a “private” page that requires a password, it may be displayed on a “public” page that is viewable all over the world, or it may be displayed along side any page content and/or other art. Furthermore, you waive, release and forever discharge any and all claims, demands or causes of action against us (the school, its faculty, staff, employees, agents, contractors, and any person, organization or entity assisting them in connection with the posting of information on the website) for damages or injuries in any way related to, connected to, or arising from the publication, and expressly assume the risk of any injury or damage resulting from said publication.
Use of Online Photos
Before you can access the collection of online photos, you must read, understand and accept this policy. Abiding by its terms and conditions is critical to the success of this community resource. Should you have any questions at any time, do not hesitate to ask.
Why do we need a policy?
This policy addresses the need for privacy and the benefits of community. While we strive to protect ones privacy we realize the sharing of photos is a welcome tradition among community members. However, photos taken at our events have surfaced on public forums. This practice is not permitted. By providing a safe and controlled alternative to less secure forums we mitigate this problem and enhance privacy as a whole. Here are the guidelines:
Policy updates: Our commitment to privacy requires that we never relax our standards; therefore, you may be asked to renew your acceptance of this policy from time to time. This will refresh your understanding of its importance. You will also be asked to renew your acceptance of this policy whenever there is a material change.
Security: Our “Photo Albums” will only be displayed on secure pages that require a username and password. Do not share your login with unauthorized persons. Change your password regularly. If using a public computer, log out when finished.
Content: The word ‘photo’ can include all forms of online media, like images, logos, videos, web casts, etc. We retain the right to remove or reject any photo deemed inappropriate. Report any objectionable photo.
Reporting Violations: All clergy, educators and many employees of our community and its institutions are legally-mandated reporters of suspected sexual abuse, child abuse, child neglect and elder abuse. California law requires such mandated reporters to report possible instances of these offenses to law enforcement agencies. Any user of this website indicating, threatening, admitting to or representing an act in violation of the law will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Copyright: Do not upload copyrighted material.
Viewing and Downloading: The photos are for personal use only. Enjoy them, talk about them with each other, but do not sell, distribute or include them in other forums without the permission of all the subjects in the photo. You may download and/or print copies of the photos so long as it is for personal use.
Endorsements: We do not endorse any photo posted on the site, nor does any photo necessarily represent our interests or political views.
Accuracy: We are not responsible for the accuracy, integrity or quality of any photo.
Privacy Concerns: If you have a concern regarding the privacy of a photo please indicate it immediately.
What if I have a problem, concern or general question?
