Welcome to Grandparents & Grand Friends Day

Please be sure to read this webpage in its entirety
so your guests will be ready to enjoy the day.

Grandparents & Grand Friends Day has been divided into 2 groups to accommodate a large number of guests.

We cannot switch any guests to a different group, so please make a note of which group your guests and your students fall into.

If your guests arrive at the wrong time we will not be able to accommodate them.

This event is for guests and students only.  Parents and siblings are unable to attend due to limited space.

Please help us make this a wonderful event for our guests by signing up to help!
We need volunteers for set-up, event day, and clean-up.
Only parents signed up to help during the event will be allowed on campus during the school day
Don’t miss your chance – sign up now!

Classroom Visit Time

Grandparents and Grand Friends will have a little under an hour to visit student(s) in their classrooms.  Given the different number of student(s) per family and number of guests they have attending, it will be at the discretion of each family to decide prior to the event how their guests will divide the classroom visit time.  Student Ambassadors will be placed throughout the campus to guide your guests to the classrooms.  Teachers and teacher assistants will also be present in every classroom to help.

Prayer Service

The classroom visit will be followed by a prayer service in the church.  Guests and their students will sit together during the prayer service.  Teachers and parent volunteers will be on hand to assist with seating.

Self-Guided Tour & Art Show

Following the prayer service, guests and their students will have an hour to spend around the campus.  They are free to tour the campus, have their photo taken in the courtyard, and enjoy an Art Show in the gym featuring art by every student.

Parking, Drop-Off, and Rideshare

Students will be dropped off on May 3 at the usual time (7:30 – 8:05) and proceed to their classrooms.  Guests should plan to arrive at 8:25 for Green Group and 9:25 for Berry Group.  Parents, please do not drop off your guests at the same time as the students or earlier than the stated arrival time.  The staggered arrival times are designed to prevent crowding in the hallways and entrances.

SELF-PARKING: is available in the surrounding neighborhood.  Relaxed parking will be in effect.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP: guests may be dropped off in one of the designated zones on either Selby Ave. (in front of the school) or Ohio Ave. (in front of the JCPC and rectory).  Check-in will be just inside the school front entrance.  At departure time, guests may also be picked up from the same designated zones.

RIDESHARE IS ENCOURAGED: we recommend this option as the easiest way to get your guests to and from St. Paul’s.

Compliments of our elevated ride service partner Alto, please enjoy 15% off all rides to and from St. Paul the Apostle School with code STPAULS.  Expect professional employee drivers, branded luxury SUVs, and water and chargers for a consistent ride every time.  To redeem, download the Alto app and add code STPAULS under Promotions in the Profile tab. Once added your credit will automatically apply to your rides. Offer valid for Alto members and guests from Friday, May 3 – Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Sign-Out Authorization

A Student Pick Up and Release form for Grandparents and Grand Friends Day is now available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This form must be filled out and digitally signed to allow the designated Grandparent/Grand Friend to pick up your child from school that day.

The Parent Portal is separate from the PowerSchool Enrollment Account. If you have not created your Parent Portal account, the link to do so is located on the Dashboard on the school website (green button on left side, “Parent Portal – Access and Setup”).

If you need help with the portal or the form, please contact Mr. Lopez at elopez@sp-apostle.org.
