Fire Relief Resources List

Many in our community have asked how they can help support people impacted by the fire. St. Paul the Apostle is known for our strong community, and now is the time to show what community means to us.

Fr. Gil has sent out to the community a Google Form/Survey designed to help us track how all our school families and parishioners are doing. Please take a moment and fill it out if you have not already done so:
We are using the results of this survey to get targeted relief and support to those who need it. You can sign up to donate specific items using the link below:
There are many other opportunities to support the thousands of Los Angelenos affected by this disaster, as well as resources available for those who need it. Here are some opportunities we are currently aware of:
Donation Opportunities
  • Support for the Gunderson Family: Donation opportunity to support an SPA family who lost their home
  • John O’Groats Meals for First Responders and Fire Victims: Please reach out to Paul Tyler at 310-801-1396 if you are interested in purchasing a meal from John O’Groats (a parishioner owned restaurant) that will be donated to firefighters and people who have been evacuated or lost their homes
  • Essential Aid for Palisades: Donation opportunity to support Palisades families, organized by an SPA family
  • YMCA: Donation opportunity to support YMCA’s relief efforts. YMCA is offering childcare, mental health support, showers and safe spaces, staging areas for first responders and relief efforts and more. You can also volunteer your time. Email volunteer@ymcala.org
  • UCLA Blood and Platelet Center: Donate blood or platelets to help patients in the UCLA Health System
  • LA Fires Donation: List specific items you can donate and get matched with families who need those items, shared by an SPA family
  • Mutual Aid Los Angeles Network: Continuously updated list of resource needs and opportunities for all fires in the LA area
  • Save the Children: Donation opportunity to support Save the Children’s efforts to meet the most urgent needs of kids and families living in some of the areas hardest hit by the devastating wildfires.

Resources for Families in Need

  • YMCA: All non-affected locations are offering childcare, showers and safe spaces, mental health support, access to licensed social workers, and basic necessities
  • Mutual Aid Los Angeles Network: Continuously updated list of resource needs and opportunities for all fires in the LA area
  • Brands Providing Products: List of brands providing products to families affected by the fires, shared by an SPA family
  • FEMA: Rent relief for fire victims
  • LA 211: Free Air BnB stays for families affected by the fires
  • Where to Start: List of suggested actions for people who suffered a loss during the fires
  • Lyft: Riders in need can use the code CAFIRERELIEF25, valid for 2 rides up to $25 each ($50 total) from now until 1/15 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Uber: Use promo code WILDFIRE25 in the wallet section of your Uber app to redeem 2 free Uber rides up to $40/each for transportation to/from active shelters.
