We worship as a community!
At St. Paul, liturgy is not just a religious obligation; it is the heartbeat of who we are. Throughout the year, students and families gather to celebrate Mass, share intentions, and lift each other up in prayer. Whether sharing joys or seeking comfort during difficult times, our community comes together in faith, knowing that we never walk alone.
These celebrations weave our school community together across all grades and generations. Parents forge friendships that last long after graduation. Families pray for one another’s struggles and celebrate one another’s triumphs. This spiritual connection, this knowledge that an entire community is holding you in prayer, makes life’s challenges more bearable and its blessings more abundant. It is what transforms a school into a family.
Student-Led Worship
About once a month, the entire school celebrates Mass together during the school day, turning services into celebrations. Our students take ownership of their faith by serving as greeters, lectors, cantors, altar servers, musicians, and gift bearers. Selected from each grade, these young leaders guide our entire school congregation in worship, developing confidence, reverence, and a deeper connection to their faith. There is something profoundly moving about watching a student lead hundreds in worship. Parents are always welcome to join these morning Masses and experience the joy of our student body worshiping together.
Sunday Family Liturgy
Each grade leads one Sunday liturgy at 9:30 A.M. per year, which students attend with their families and the wider parish community. These celebrations connect our school families to the larger St. Paul the Apostle parish, strengthening bonds across generations.
Grade Liturgy and Dinner: An Evening You Won’t Want to Miss
This time-honored tradition is one of the most cherished events of the school year and for good reason. Each grade gathers once a year for a special weekday evening prayer service. Here’s what makes it truly special: this is your child’s night. There are no siblings and no distractions, just parents giving their undivided attention to one child, celebrating who they are and who they are becoming.
After the prayer service, families gather in the John Carroll Parish Center for a delicious dinner. Each grade chooses a unique theme, making every year’s celebration memorable and distinct. While parents connect over conversation and get to know one another more deeply, children enjoy activities and games designed just for them.
Even the cleanup is meaningful. Older students participate in our beloved “Dishes for Dollars” tradition, washing dishes to reduce paper waste while raising money for a charity of their choosing. It is service, stewardship, and student leadership all rolled into one.
These evenings create the bonds that last a lifetime. The connections formed over shared meals and heartfelt blessings become the foundation of fellowship in our close-knit community. Parents who attend year after year will tell you: “do not miss this.” It is an evening that reminds you why you chose St. Paul in the first place.
“I appreciate how St. Paul creates intentional moments for families to slow down, spend meaningful time with our children, and connect through a shared blessing and meal.” — Stephanie Tsai, Current Parent
Whether acting as greeters, lectors, cantors, altar servers, musicians, or gift bearers throughout the year, our students are always encouraged to share their gifts with the community. Through these celebrations, they learn what it means to belong to something bigger than themselves.
