The Zoom schedule is posted on the homeroom pages on PSL as well as on the PWC website.

Media Center/Library – Ms. Oliver/Ms. Danielski – Reading

The Media Center/School Library is now open for all students to check-out (hard copy) books by going online and placing a “Hold” on a book they wish to read. Ms. Oliver will then follow up with an email and advise the date and time the book will be available for an after school pick-up from the Media Center.

Miss Danielski has posted on her page a link to a 7th grade Required Reading list for her class, from which students are required to select a book to read this first trimester. 

Many of these books can be checked out from the school Media Center/Library.

Language Arts Course Description Grade 7

This course is designed to provide instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Grammar, vocabulary, and spelling are taught as viable components of the writing process.

Students write informational, narrative, and research-based essays. The students read long and short literary and non-fiction text including but not limited to the following works:

Where the Lilies Bloom by Vera and Bill Cleaver The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Nothing but the Truth by Avi
“Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost

“I, Too” by Langston Hughes
“Where I’m From” by George Ella Lyon
“I Spy” by Graham Greene
“What I Learned Driving Through the Heartland” by Seth Kugel

Grading Policy Language for Language Art During Distance Learning Grade 7

Graded Assignments

–Students are expected to submit assignments on the day they are due. Late work will receive reduced credit or no credit depending upon the degree of lateness. Assignments are posted on the teacher’s Power School Learning (PSL) page.

–Specific criteria for each assignment is presented either verbally or in the form of written instructions depending upon the nature of the assignment.

–Grade scales are provided for major assignments.
