Chinese
Food and Japanese Food
Do
you really know your food as well as you think you do? I didnt!
I thought that Japanese food and Chinese food were the same
thing, but know I know that they are different in tastes,
the way they are prepared, and even what tea is served.
Chinese food is a great choice for family dinners or nights
out with lots of friends. With a large variety of flavors
(such as tangy, sweet and sour, and spicy) and huge portions,
it is a sure-fire way to please everyone. Some of these mouthwatering
foods are aromatic prawns, batter fried shrimp glazed with
a tangy and spicy orange sauce, and sesame chicken, chicken
covered in a brown sauce and sesame seeds. Also, Chinese food
uses more chicken and pork than Japanese food. You could probably
find half a dozen dishes with pork or chicken at a Chinese
Restaurant, but only about two chicken dishes and probably
no pork dishes at a Japanese restaurant.
Japanese
food is good for quiet meals or calm afternoons. The atmosphere
usually soothes you and brings you to peaceful state of mind.
Japanese food is often served in an artistic manner, using
vegetables and fruit to make a unique picture of the food
served. There are a number of things served at a Japanese
restaurant such as tempura (batter fried shrimp and/or vegetables),
sushi (rice with seafood and/or vegetables in/on it and eaten
with soy sauce and wasabi if desired), and sashimi (similar
to sushi, except you control the amount of rice, seafood,
soy sauce, and wasabi). And if your not in the mood for seafood,
try something with the infamous teriyaki sauce. Teriyaki sauce
is a clear, sweet, dark brown sauce that goes well with chicken,
beef, and seafood.
Overall,
I would say that both types of food have extreme variety and
are great to eat, but are totally different. The only things
I found that are similar are that both are eaten with chopsticks,
rice and tea (Japanese restaurants serve green tea and Chinese
restaurants serve oolong and jasmine tea) and both frequently
serve meat and seafood. So now when people say "Chinese
food, Japanese food. Whats the difference?" you
can tell them. And finally, since I think that both types
of food are tremendously good, and I have no personal preference
between the two, I encourage everyone who reads or hears this
essay, to go to a Chinese restaurant and a Japanese restaurant
and develop their own opinion.

My dream is one that is almost impossible. To start off, I
want to go to U.S.C or Michigan. I will begin my life by playing
pro in the M.L.B. I want to play at least twelve years and
break many records. I will want to keep many friends. After
I want start my own hotel and it will be very fancy. It will
be located in Maui and I will call it the Paradise Resorts.
My hotel will be somewhat like a fancy Hilton but I will make
some adjustments. It will be like everything you can think
of but better. I will live in the hotel and make my own suite.
I probably will have a wife and two kids. I am hoping that
my dreams will come true and I think I am very capable of
making them come true.

Religion Grade Projects
In Religion class we have recently finished projects about
?A Person of Character?. Each student chose someone who has
had a great impact on the world. Some students chose one of
their parents because of an accomplishment or obstacle they
were able to overcome. We shared these with the rest of the
class and learned about each person. Some of the people chosen
were: Princess Diana, Martin Luther King, Jr., Mohammed and
Jimmy Carter.
