" Take the Word of God with you as
you go.
Take the seeds of God's Word and take them grow.
Go in peace to serve the world in peace to the world.
Take the love of God, the love of God with you as you go."
From the Desk of Sister Stella Maria, Principal
School is out for the summer. From June 16th to September
8th is a very long time in the life of a child. Parents
it will be of immense help to your children if you find
creative, enjoyable and consistent ways to help children
practice what you and the teachers. Taught them dur5ing
the school year. The above quotation reminds us that
wherever we go and what ever we do we are traveling
and working with the love of God in our hearts. This
love is fed by remembering to have a conversation with
God each day and by faithfully participating in the
Eucharist on Sundays. May each of you have a safe, happy
summer and may you return to us relaxed renewed.
Our new Mass schedule, which will go into effect the
weekend of July 4th, is,
Saturday Evening 5:00pm

Sunday 9:00am

11:00am
5:00pm
Find a magnet enclosed in your summer packet to place
on your refrigerator to help you remember the new Mass
schedule.
Families, who are moving to other places, we thank you
for the years you have spent with us and we wish you
the best of luck. Remember you are always welcome and
maybe you will find time to join us at our Fall Festival.
Summer office hours:
Monday through Friday the office will open each day
at 8am and close at 1:30pm through June and July.
My summer schedule is as follows:
Working in school until July 17th.
Off campus from July 19th until August 23rd
Back to work August 23rd
Office closes July 30th & reopens August 30th
May each of you have a peaceful summer. Parents who
are worried about the placement of their children next
year cast your worries aside--do not try to control--let
the Spirit be your guide to do what is best for each
child to help them grow up and meet the challenges of
life.
The class lists are complete and are confidential until
the first day of school. Thank you for trusting us to
do what is best for your child.
Reports cards may be picked up in the office during
summer hours for any student who was absent the last
day of school.
Parents, the attached article, to the hardcpy Epistle
Regarding Media/Tim Rutten is well worth reading. Take
time to digest it. Tim Rutten has accepted an invitation
to speak at St. Paul's in the fall.

Office Information
VERY IMPORTANT FROM THE FRONT OFFICE
Registration packets were due to the school office
no later than June 10, 2004. We have not heard from
quite a few families. Remember, if we do not receive
your packet immediately your child/childrens
names will not appear on a class list on the first
day of school. The materials are very important to
input all the information in different computers over
the summer. We look forward to receiving your packet,
now. Thank you for your co-operation.

PWC
President
Dear SPA Families,
Good-Bye
Since our youngest student is graduating, I will not be
back next year as a St. Paul the Apostle School parent.
Thank you for your support. The number of hours volunteered
by our parents during the year is staggering. I would
also like to extend my appreciation to the members of
the 2003-2004 PWC Board for their willingness to serve
whenever called upon. It has been an honor to work with
such a terrific Board. Congratulations to Debbie Buderwitz
and her new Board. We wish them all great success in the
coming school year.
Annual Faculty Breakfast
Each year, the PWC prepares and serves Breakfast to the
teachers after a special Mass. This is our small way of
letting the teachers know how much we appreciate them.
They are responsible for educating the hearts and minds
of our children and we are so very grateful. We also recognize
and thank our wonderful staff at this Breakfast.
Uniform Exchange
Watch for the information on the Uniform Exchange in this
Epistle. It will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room from
7:50AM to10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 16th, the last day
of school. Huge "THANKS" to Julie Stamato for
handling the Uniform Exchange over the past few years.
Thank you, Julie, for providing this important resource
for our families.
Graduation
Congratulations to the Class of 2004. Good luck next year
in
HIGH SCHOOL! Thank you 7th grade parents for
putting together the many graduation events. Bless you.
Have a "cool" summer!

Weekly
Readings/Reflections
These are the readings for next Sunday,
June 20, the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Please read and reflect on these readings during the week
(alone or with family and friends), and come to next Sundays
liturgy prepared to listen attentively to the proclamation
of the Word of God\

. READING I Zechariah 12:10-11; 13:1
Thus says the LORD:
I will pour out on the house of David
and on the
inhabitants of Jerusalem
a spirit of
grace and petition;
and they shall
look on him whom they have pierced,
and they shall
mourn for him as one mourns for an only son,
and they shall
grieve over him as one grieves over a firstborn.
On that day the mourning in Jerusalem shall be as great
as the mourning
of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
On that day there shall be open to the house of David
and to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem,
a fountain
to purify from sin and uncleanness.
READING II Galatians 3:26-29
Brothers and sisters:
Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus.
For all of you who were baptized into Christ
have clothed
yourselves with Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither
slave nor free person,
there is not
male and female;
for you are
all one in Christ Jesus.
And if you belong to Christ,
then you are
Abraham's descendant,
heirs according
to the promise.

GOSPEL Luke 9:18-24
Once when Jesus was praying in solitude,
and the disciples
were with him,
he asked them,
"Who do the crowds say that I am?"
They said in reply, "John the Baptist;
others, Elijah;
still others,
'One of the ancient prophets has arisen.'"
Then he said to them, "But who do you say that I
am?"
Peter said in reply, "The Christ of God."
He rebuked them
and directed
them not to tell this to anyone.
He said, "The Son of Man must suffer greatly
and be rejected
by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed
and on the third day be raised."
Then he said to all,
"If anyone
wishes to come after me, he must deny himself
and take up
his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever
loses his life for my sake will save it."
12th Sunday in Ordinary Time (June 20)
READINGS Zechariah foretells the crucifixion;
ALL are equal in God, through faith;Jesus predicts his
suffering.
WHAT I HEAR What do the readings tell me about
inequality in the world, the Church and in my personal
life?
MY FAITH JOURNEY How do I deal with suffering in
my life?
FOR CHILDREN When bad times come, Jesus understands
because he suffered as well.He wants to help us.Sometimes
he gives us strength from inside, other times through
someone we know.

ESSENTIAL LEARNING SYSTEMS PARENT EDUCATION
NETWORK
Spaces are still available for the 2004-2005 school
year session of Essential Learning Systems. This interactive,
computerized approach designed to help students become
more efficient learners has just completed a fifth successful
year at St. Paul the Apostle School. Post-testing results
indicate an average growth of two grade levels in reading
comprehension, not to mention improved grades and self-esteem.
There are blue brochures with additional information
about Essential Learning Systems in the school patio.
Dont miss out on this opportunity to maximize
the success of your childs learning potential.
For more information, contact Essential Learning Systems
Director and Learning Specialist, Nora Masterson, at
ext. 309. Additionally, Ms. Masterson, with the assistance
of school counselor Dr. Carol King, will be introducing
"Parents Education Network" next year, a coalition
of parents working with educators to help bring success
to children with learning difficulties. Details to follow
in the October Epistle
