THE NAME OF GOD

With Moses we ask, "What is your Name? How shall we call you, who have given the name to all people and all things?" And through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, you have answered:

I am the Father. You are my child. Honor all my children and revere all people—and you will know me.

I am the almighty Creator. Your life and all that you have is my gift to you. Adore me with all of your being, always and everywhere—and you will know me.

I am Love and the power of love. Ask me for the supreme power, the power to love me and, with me, to love my people—and you will know me.

I am Fidelity. Trust in my promises and keep your promises—and you will know me.

I am infinite Mercy. Be merciful to the poor, the weak, the sinner—and you will know me.

I am all Goodness. Rely on my goodness and show goodness to others—and you will know me.

I am Purity of heart. Love your neighbor with a pure heart, with no thought of reward—and you will know me.

I am Benevolence. Respect my whole creation and be benevolent to all your sisters and brothers—and you will know me.

I am Providence. Care for the present moment and look forward to, the future with responsibility but also with trust and you will know me.

I am Gentleness. Blessed are those of a gentle spirit. They know my name to many. Be one of them------and you will know me.

I am Beauty. Open your eyes to all my works. Contemplate them—and you will know me.

I am Joy and Beatitude. Rejoice in me and bring joy to all whom you meet and you will know me.

I am Justice. Be just and serve justice through non-violent action. Help those who suffer from the injustice of sinful man—and you will know me.

I am Peace. Find your rest in me and be grateful for my peace. Accept your mission to be a channel of peace—and you will know me.

I am Life. Be grateful for every moment of your life. Protect the life of all human beings. Use to the full the present moment and you will know me.

I am Truth. Be truthful with yourself and sincere with all others. Live your own life and prepare to die your own death. Act according to your upright conscience, seeking always for more light and you will know me.

I am the Judge. Confess yours sins; forgive those who have wronged you. Honor my saving judgment, remembering that I alone am judge—and you will know me.

I am the Holy One, who calls you to holiness. Truest in me, believe in me, adore me in spirit and truthfulness—and you will know me.

I am the Beginning and the End. Begin everything in my name, and direct all your steps to me—and, in life and in death, you will know me.

I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have revealed your name through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Weekly Readings/Reflections

PALM SUNDAY READINGS

Reading 1
Is 50:4-7

The Lord GOD has given me
a well-trained tongue,
that I might know how to speak to the weary
a word that will rouse them.
Morning after morning
he opens my ear that I may hear;
and I have not rebelled,
have not turned back.
I gave my back to those who beat me,
my cheeks to those who plucked my beard;
my face I did not shield
from buffets and spitting.

The Lord GOD is my help,
therefore I am not disgraced;
I have set my face like flint,
knowing that I shall not be put to shame.

Gospel at the Procession
Mark 11:1-10

When Jesus and his disciples drew near to Jerusalem,
to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives,
he sent two of his disciples and said to them,
“Go into the village opposite you,
and immediately on entering it,
you will find a colt tethered on which no one has ever sat.
Untie it and bring it here.
If anyone should say to you,
‘Why are you doing this?’ reply,
‘The Master has need of it
and will send it back here at once.’”
So they went off
and found a colt tethered at a gate outside on the street,
and they untied it.
Some of the bystanders said to them,
“What are you doing, untying the colt?”
They answered them just as Jesus had told them to,
and they permitted them to do it.
So they brought the colt to Jesus
and put their cloaks over it.
And he sat on it.
Many people spread their cloaks on the road,
and others spread leafy branches
that they had cut from the fields.
Those preceding him as well as those following kept crying out:
“Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come!
Hosanna in the highest!”
