FROM THE DESK OF SISER STELLA:
WHAT IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD - DeWItt Jones
Celebrate what is right with the world rather than
wallow in what is wrong.
When the vision is clear, then the passion and creativity
are there as well.
The intellectual paradigm based on fear, scarcity and
competition is not

what nature shows us.
Vision controls our perceptions and our perceptions
become our reality.

I learned growing up; I won't believe it until I see
it.

I now know; I won't se it until I believe it.
There is no use walking anywhere to preach unless your
walking is the preaching.
When we begin to celebrate what is right with the world,
we begin to build a vision of

Possibility, a vision that allows us to always find
another right answer,
Questions to ask ourselves; what is here to celebrate?
What is exciting?

What is right with it?

Celebrate what is right with the world gives us energy;

Then we have the energy to change what is wrong.

We have to trust our vision and come out to our edges.

It is here on the edge that we find the winds to take
us higher.

It is not the external edges that we have to test.

It is the internal ones as well.

I need to spend time not only with what I am, but also
with who I am

Time s of the most change also hold the most possibility.
There is a subtle edge between success and significance,
between being the best in

The world, and being the best for the world.

It all depends on how you frame things as to what you
will see.
You never know where it will go when you publish it
in your life and give it all back.
Hold a vision that fills us with energy; that takes
us to the edge; that gives us the
Courage to soar; that allows us to celebrate what is
right with the world.

Weekly
Readings/Reflections
READING I Acts 13:14, 43-52
Paul and Barnabas continued on from Perga

and reached Antioch in Pisidia.
On the sabbath they entered the synagogue and took their
seats.
Many Jews and worshipers who were converts to Judaism

followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them

and urged them to remain faithful to the grace of God.
On the following sabbath almost the whole city gathered

to hear the word of the Lord.
When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with
jealousy

and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said.
Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said,

"It was necessary that the word of God be spoken
to you first,

but since you reject it

and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life,

we now turn to the Gentiles.
For so the Lord has commanded us,

I have made you a light to the Gentiles,

that you may be an instrument of salvation

to the ends of the earth."
The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this

and glorified the word of the Lord.
All who were destined for eternal life came to believe,

and the word of the Lord continued to spread

through the whole region.
The Jews, however, incited the women of prominence who
were worshipers

and the leading men of the city,

stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas,

and expelled them from their territory.
So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against
them,

and went to Iconium.
The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
READING II Revelation 7:9, 14b-17
I, John, had a vision of a great multitude,

which no one could count,

from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,

wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their
hands.
Then one of the elders said to me,

"These are the ones who have survived the time
of great distress;

they have washed their robes

and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
For this reason they stand before God's throne

and worship him day and night in his temple.
The one who sits on the throne will shelter them.
They will not hunger or thirst anymore,

nor will the sun or any heat strike them.
For the Lamb who is in the center of the throne

will shepherd them

and lead them to springs of life-giving water,

and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
GOSPEL John 10:27-30
Jesus said:
"My sheep hear my voice;

I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than
all,

and no one can take them out of the Father's hand.
The Father and I are one."

Campout Information
Camp out update!

The campout packets are now being distributed to those
families who are signed up for this year's camp out. Be
sure to pick up your packet in the pavilion after school.
There are still 25 families on the waiting list. At this
time it looks like possibly two new cabins will be set
up at the camp. It does not appear likely that the campground
will be setting up any additional tents.
If there has been any change in the location of your cabin
or tent since the day of the sign up, that information
will appear on the right side column of the master guest
list which is included with your camp out packet. If anyone
who is signed up for the camp out decides they cannot
attend, please contact Danny Amos so that your cabin or
tent can be provided to a family on the waiting list.
Only those families who are signed up for the camp out
and have signed a release will be able to enter the camp-
ground and participate in the weekend's activities.
If you have any questions, please contact Danny Amos listed
in the school directory.
.
Happy camping!
